Tony's leaving Backbeat! - meet Peter Short
Backbeat's lads are all from their local area (Essex) and have long shared a mutual admiration for 60's music and The Beatles. The year 1996 saw their popularity increase as a band when BackBeat was formed from the renmants of an earlier band, Rock'A'Fellas. Another popularity booster was the decision to play 60's music as their prinary genre of music.
They of course can still revert back to their 50's style of the past.
Since then BackBeat has risen from strength to strength and have never looked back.
They performed almost 200 bookings last year (2007), from corporate events, holiday camps, social clubs, marquees and restaurants. BackBeat is the perfect entertainment for any kind of event, having experienced small private parties, right up to huge indoor audiences of up to 10,000.
The band can offer clients peace of mind and flexibility when booking and playing.
Tribute bands are not just about sounding like their famous counterparts. They need to capture the spirit of the real article. BackBeat's passion for the music comes across to the audience who are always left with the impression that the band is having a great time too.
The band as musicians have researched their parts musically and the instruments used to ensure the music is represented as accurately as possible.
This has no doubt helped them to acquire bookings at The Cavern Club in Liverpool which has the nickname of "The Most Famous Club in The World" for the last few years.
